In 2012 the opportunity to move back to my hometown of Highmore became a reality. Having over 30 years of retail experience mainly operating stores in regional malls and my love for customers and customer service I saw a need in my hometown and surrounding communities the needs for a full-service floral and gift shop. 

In the spring of 2013 remodeling began on a building I had owned since 1993 to establish what was to become Amber Waves Florals opening September of 2013. When Amber Waves opened, we focused on Fresh Floral and Plants along with Home Décor along with a small coffee bar and lunch menu. 

In the spring of 2015, the decision was made to concentrate only on the floral and home décor business and with that we opened a 1500 square foot seasonal greenhouse offering annuals and perennials each spring. In 2020 ground was broken on a year-round 3500 square foot greenhouse attached to the flower shop.

In the summer 2023 the decision to expand into apparel and footwear began with a full remodeling of the store. This was something our customers had been looking for in our small community and area. With this change a new name for the business, Amber Waves Emporium was launched.
